join a gym and do hard workouts if you wish, but it’s not me – and it’s not necessary
Hear me out – the word exercise always rubbed me the wrong way. Sure I’ve joined gyms, I’ve ______ and I trained for a marathon decades ago – at age 25
But when I started this health journey, a few things began to sink in: When the word exercise comes up (and think about how often it comes up!) my mind would just wander. “Yeah doc -you’re right” Just like I don’t care for beats – I can eat them, but I could also go years or decades without.
The reason I mention beets is because I still remember a diet (maybe a soup) where beets were the main ingredient – you can imagine how long that diet lasted – probably didn’t get through day one.
I want to emphasize that this article (in fact my deep theory) is not about not exercising . . . it is very definitely about moving your body – ALL OF IT. By this I mean not just muscles & _____, but also your digestive system, your blood circulation and the waves that go through your mind. Running is one way to get results – so is walking. Dead lifts & bench presses are another way – so is a dumbbell routine in your living room. The gym might get you to work a bunch of muscles – but so will bed & chair exercises.
This worked for me – it can work for you. If you’ve struggled as I have for decades, try the FOUR PILLARS that I gradually created to fit my own situation, Click here to view the other 3 pillars
Don’t rush – but get started with something – anything, Roam around my blog, you’ll find something to inspire you and help you continue.
