PILLAR II: stage your foods

Flex it – this is a different muscle – and I feel has been under-emphasized – at least for me. It has some similarities with PILLAR III, in that the word ‘exercise’ has steered many people wrong, omitting this very specific step may be the single most ____ act/habit that helped me – so listen up! This is specifically different from buying the right foods (which you must), and growing the right foods (which you should). It’s also specifically different from planning your meals (which will become a habit – you’ll see)

So – stage! I put my foods on the counter, on the table, at my coffee station. I was clunky at first, to the _____ of my wife and kids – but eventually I found a neat place to keep my tumeric & red bell pepper flakes (not in the cabinet!), I keep cans of baba ganoosh & hummus sitting neatly on a table near the dining table. A pepper grinder is right smack on the table . . . catch my drift?

I also have the freezer better organized, so I can easily grab a chicken breast the night before, ready to grill. (I’m still a bit lazy to buy fresh chicken every other day – but that would be a better option)

Perhaps most importantly, I bought an attractive basket that has onions, garlic, red bell peppers, lemons and carrots right on the table (I’m not a beet fan – but add them too). Because I eat these things more than once-a-day – they never go bad – some are kept in the fridge (my friend Popeye told me to keep spinach in the fridge.

Things like peanut butter are pushed to the back of the cabinet – more effort so I make the specific choice to eat. same with chocolate ice cream in the freezer. You can see I’m not the guy to go cold turkey on eliminating some foods many would say not to eat.

And much to the chagrin of many – I’m not a proponent of exercise either. I believe the senseless removal of foods you like and the pressure to join gyms and exercise may be what keep you from losing weight – I can orove that it was detrimental to me – check around for stories that might appeal to you
